Islanders Dragrace Team

In mid mars 2007 I was called by Paul Ingar Udtian who ask me if would be interested to be a member of his team, he told me he had plans for Top Metanol Dragster, since he had run  in the Super Comp class for many years, I did ask if he had some others with some experience from bigger classes, and he told me that Thor Larsen also had been asked and said yes, he also told that he was working to close a deal with the #man# of Top Metanol Dragster class in Europe Dave Wilson regarding buying his old car Nemesis complete ready to run, we had talked about this the season before but I didn’t expect something to happen because  I hadn’t heard anything from Paul Ingar since the Finals in 2006, but of Corse if we can get the car from Dave and start testing this season  it would be great, and I didn’t need much  time to think about it, A few days later the call came that he had done a deal with Dave, and that he should help us get started, we also should get the opportunity  to be with Dave and his incredible team thru the race at Eastern on Santa Pod to watch and learn,  we didn’t just watch we was aloud to work with his team and learned a lot this weekend., Many Tanks to Dave and his team we had a great weekend. Our aims  for the season was to run for licence and get the car run  abut 6 seconds on the quarter mile. We started with the license runs some weeks before Main Event with the best run a 6,09 with Paul Ingar off the throttle before finish line wow.  We did have some small problems so we decided to go get more practice, we had to go to Finland to try and learn more, we did run the to runs with the numbers 5,8  not bad and we qualified, and was ready for the first round did the burnout and then the engine stopped? The reason for the engine stop was our own, we had some mechanical failure / mistake so we had to leave the car on the track to let Peter run, sadly for the others was the race cancelled because of rain. The next race we heeded for Mantorp and what a weekend we now run all runs in the 5,70 what is happening? We are doing something right, we had some problems with the pistons and have to go back to the old once that we just change before the race, we also had to change 3 sleeves that we have to tank Peter Schofer and Gittli for being so kind and lending 2 of his spare and also Dave that lend us one so we cold rebuild the engine, it became a long night but the smile was back in the morning when Paul Ingar took out Crister in the first elimination on Sunday, and again an 5,7 sadly there was some staging problems in the second round when Paul was up against Dave that leaded to Paul doing something he’s not used to, being slow on the tree, but we think Dave was quit happy because he had some problems and runs slower ET but Drag racing is first to the Finnish line so Dave congratulation  you eliminated Paul Ingar, Okay we was still happy we had new personal best this weekend also. Then it was just the Finals at Santa Pod left on our plans and we qualified with a 5,64 new personal best again,   sadly again we got problems with a Blower explosions in the first Eliminations round and the season was over but with 6,09 in license run and then 5,8 in Finland 5,7 in Sweden and 5,64 in the finals we think we are on the right way, so we are relay looking forward to 2008.We want to thank every one, all too many to list, for all help and tech tips and hope to see You all again this year.
